Economist and Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr George Domfe, has questioned the CID’s decision to invite a TikToker over comments on the alleged sacrifice of 32 cows to secure the NDC’s victory in the 2024 general elections. ZZETTA HUB GH published the statement on Wednesday, 8th July, 2026.
“Did I hear correctly that the CID has invited a TikToker to comment on the alleged sacrifice of 32 cows to secure the NDC's victory in the 2024 general elections?
Interesting! But why leave out the pastor who made the original claim? If we're following the trail, shouldn't it begin at the source? We need answers!” Dr Domfe stated.
The comment comes amid reports that the CID has summoned a TikToker who commented on the controversial claim. The original allegation was reportedly made by a pastor.
Dr Domfe argued that any investigation must start from the source of the claim to ensure credibility and fairness. He said that selectively targeting commentators while ignoring the originator raises questions about the process.
The statement has sparked debate online about freedom of speech, police investigations, and political commentary ahead of elections.
Some social media users agree with Dr Domfe that the pastor should also be invited, while others say the TikToker’s comments may have escalated the matter.
At press time, the CID had not issued a statement responding to Dr Domfe’s concerns.
