Businesswoman Found Dead With Bible On Her Chest Inside Kumasi Couple's Home

Residents of a quiet community in Kumasi were left in shock after police discovered the decomposed body of a 58-year-old woman inside her brother’s home.

The strange discovery has since turned the family house into a crime scene filled with suspicion and unanswered questions.

According to investigators, the body was found neatly placed on a bed with a Bible resting on the chest.

Police believe the woman may have died nearly two weeks earlier, but relatives had not been informed of her whereabouts.

The unusual circumstances have raised alarm both in Ghana and among diaspora communities closely following the case.

Family members explained that the deceased, who had travelled from the Eastern Region to visit her brother and his new wife, was last heard from in late January.

Her son, who lives abroad, told the press that he kept in contact with his mother until her phone suddenly went off.

“At first we thought it was just a minor issue with her phone, but later, the explanations we received from my uncle were inconsistent,” he said.

Tension grew when neighbours reported a foul smell coming from the house.

Some were told by the couple that it was a dead animal, but suspicions deepened when no one had seen the woman for weeks. Eventually, relatives forced a visit to the home and made the shocking discovery.

One neighbour said she was disturbed by the fact that the body was kept in the house without any official report to authorities.

“We were told they were waiting for her to come back to life. That is frightening and unacceptable,” she added.

Police officers from the Criminal Investigations Department later moved the body to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination.

Both the brother and his wife have been taken into custody to assist with investigations.

Ghanaian communities abroad have also expressed concern, with many calling for thorough investigations and justice.
