Kofi Bentil did not collapse on live TV- TV3 debunks rumours

TV3 Ghana has debunked viral social media claims that lawyer and IMANI Vice President Kofi Bentil lost consciousness during a live broadcast of Key Points on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

In a statement shared on its verified Facebook page, TV3 Ghana described the reports as misleading and false. 

According to the station, only a minor seat-related disruption briefly affected the broadcast. Management stressed that at no point did Mr Bentil lose consciousness or collapse.

"TV3 Ghana wishes to clarify misleading reports circulating on social media claiming that lawyer and policy analyst Kofi Bentil lost consciousness during a live broadcast of #TheKeyPoints on Saturday, 30 May 2026. These claims are false.

During the programme, a minor seat-related disruption briefly affected the broadcast. At no point did Mr Bentil lose consciousness or collapse," the statement reads.

TV3 extended sincere apologies to Mr Bentil for the inconvenience caused and praised his understanding and professionalism during the incident.

The station also urged the public to disregard all false reports, speculation, and misinformation regarding his health. It further called on media outlets, bloggers and Ghanaians to refrain from sharing unverified information.

"TV3 extends its sincere apologies to Mr Bentil for the inconvenience caused and appreciates his understanding and professionalism. We also urge the public to disregard all false reports, speculation, and misinformation regarding his health.

TV3 remains committed to accurate, responsible, and ethical journalism and calls on media outlets, bloggers, and the public to refrain from sharing unverified information," the statement added.

The clarification from TV3 Ghana has come as a relief to Ghanaians who were beginning to get worried about the development.
