I Was Part Of Those Sacked At Kessben FM–Adwoa Kyerewaa Reveals How Kessben Brought Her Back

According to a report by Kessben TV, on Tuesday August 25, 2026, Adwoa Kyerewaa, News Editor at Kessben FM, has opened up about a difficult period in her career when she was among staff members dismissed from the media organisation, revealing how the late lawyer and businessman Kwabena “Kessben” brought her back.

Speaking about her experience, Kyerewaa disclosed that she was part of a group of workers who lost their jobs during a major staff shake-up at the station.

“I was part of those sacked at Kessben FM,” she stated while recounting the experience and reflecting on her relationship with the late Kessben.

According to Kyerewaa, the dismissal was a challenging moment in her professional journey.

However, the story did not end with her departure from the station, as Kessben later intervened and gave her another opportunity to return.

She explained that the late media proprietor personally played a role in bringing her back to the organisation.

His decision, she suggested, demonstrated his willingness to recognise the value and potential of members of his team even after difficult circumstances.

Kyerewaa’s account offers a personal perspective on the leadership style of Kessben and his relationship with employees who worked under him. For her, being given another opportunity to return became an important chapter in her career.

Her revelation comes at a time when tributes continue to emerge following the death of Kessben, whose influence on Ghana’s media and business landscape remains a subject of discussion among colleagues, industry players and admirers.

The late Kessben built a strong reputation through his involvement in broadcasting and business, while Kessben FM became one of the prominent radio stations in the Ashanti Region.

Kyerewaa’s recollection adds another personal story to the growing accounts about the late businessman and media personality, highlighting how his decisions affected the careers of people who worked within his organisation.

By publicly narrating her experience, the News Editor has provided insight into a lesser-known chapter of her professional relationship with Kessben and explained how his intervention ultimately brought her back to the station.

Her story is expected to resonate with former and current staff members who witnessed Kessben’s contribution to Ghana’s media industry.
