Fury as Assistant Chief Escapes Mob Attack After Being Caught With Schoolgirl in Guest House

At 6.34 pm, residents of a small town in Ghana nearly lynched an assistant chief after he was allegedly caught in a compromising situation with a secondary school girl.

The incident happened at a popular guesthouse in the community, leaving locals shocked and furious.

According to police sources, the traditional leader was discovered inside one of the rooms with a girl believed to be in Form Two.

The guesthouse manager, who grew suspicious of the young girl’s age, quickly alerted people in the area. Within minutes, an angry crowd stormed the place and demanded justice on the spot.

Eyewitnesses said the mob threatened to attack the chief, accusing him of taking advantage of a minor. Some even attempted to break into the room, but police officers arrived in time to prevent what could have turned into a violent scene.

The suspect was taken into custody under heavy security to calm the situation.

The district police commander confirmed the arrest and explained that investigations had already begun. He stressed that the assistant chief would face the full force of the law if found guilty.

“We have placed him in custody while we carry out a thorough investigation. Once completed, he will be charged accordingly,” the commander said.

The case has sparked outrage among parents, teachers, and community leaders who are demanding justice for the girl.

Many expressed disappointment that a person in authority, who is expected to protect children, could be accused of such behavior.

“This is unacceptable. Chiefs and elders are supposed to guide the youth, not exploit them,” one resident said angrily.

This disturbing event comes just weeks after another man in a nearby community was reportedly attacked by residents for allegedly abusing a child.

Police in the region have since warned the public against taking the law into their own hands. They encouraged citizens to report suspected crimes instead of resorting to mob justice.

Child rights activists have also called for stronger measures to protect young girls from abuse. They believe strict punishment for offenders, regardless of their social status, will serve as a deterrent to others.

The assistant chief is currently being held at the district police station while authorities continue their investigation.
