Dr. Solomon Kwarteng Forkuo of Kumasi Technical University has criticized President John Dramani Mahama for what he describes as inconsistent leadership, pointing to recent appointments that appear to contradict the president’s earlier stance on governance issues under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Appearing on Wontumi TV, he referenced past criticisms by Mahama against Akufo-Addo over the appointment of a family member to a key government position.
He argued that similar patterns are now being observed, with allegations that Mahama has also appointed a relative to an important post, which he described as contradictory.
He also alleged that some appointments are being influenced behind the scenes by party stakeholders seeking to secure positions for loyalists within state institutions, raising concerns about transparency in governance.
Additionally, Dr. Forkuo raised questions about cabinet composition, stating that most ministers come from the Northern and Volta regions, while women occupy only a small fraction of positions.
He suggested that this raises issues regarding regional fairness and gender representation.
He emphasized that leadership should be rooted in consistency and ethical governance, insisting that principles should not change depending on who is in power.
His remarks have contributed to wider discussions on accountability and fairness in political appointments.
